Can't forget Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet either [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] but I've always wondered if AC/DC would have ever been as big as they are if Bon had never died and Brian never joined the band [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]
I prefer Bon Scott era AC/DC more, myself. I like Brian's stuff, but since Angus and Malcolm have taken over song writing duties I think their lyrics have suffered drastically. Brian only wrote the lyrics up to Razor's Edge. Bon Scott was a lyricist beyond compare. Toilet humor at it's best. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
To answer your question though, I've got a really good AC/DC biography and it says from good authority that if Bon had lived he wouldn't have been in the band much longer anyway. He wanted to do some solo stuff, plus the Young's were getting a little tired of his wild ways. You can't find much better stuff than what AC/DC did from 77-81 though. GREAT!!!

I don't know if any of you have seen it or not but VH1 has a show called Ultimate Albums and last night they showed the episode for Back In Black. I never realized how some of the songs have subtle little tributes to Bon in them. The entire song "Have A Drink On Me" is pretty much dedicated to him and I never even realized it. They told a pretty funny story of how they came up with the lyrics to Hells Bells too.
I think it's funny that when they hired Brian that they already had all the songs recorded. He came in listened to the songs and then wrote the lyrics. That's alot of pressure coming into one of the biggest bands in the world and replacing a legend who died.
